RURAL LANDS PROTECTION ACT 1989—REGULATION

(Relating to the distance stock may be moved under a stock licence)

NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 62 of 29 April 1994]

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Rural Lands Protection Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

I. R. CAUSELY
Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.

The Rural Lands Protection Regulation 1990 is amended by omitting from Schedule 4, opposite the reference to the district of Dubbo, the matter "25" and by inserting instead the word "Unlimited".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Rural Lands Protection Act 1989 provides for the issue of stock licences authorising persons to move stock by vehicle over public roads or travelling stock reserves for a distance or distances prescribed by regulation. At present, a stock licence for the district of Dubbo authorises the holder to move stock by vehicle over a maximum distance of 25 kilometres. The object of this Regulation is to remove this limitation, so that a stock licence for the district of Dubbo authorises the holder to move stock by vehicle for an unlimited distance.

This Regulation is made under the Rural Lands Protection Act 1989, in particular section 99 (Use of stock licences) and section 217 (the general regulation

making power).
