Regulation under the Rural Fires Act 1997.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to increase the amount of the penalty for prescribed offences in relation to which an authorised officer may serve a penalty notice on a person if it appears to the officer that the person has committed the offence. This Regulation also prescribes section 99A of the Act as a prescribed offence in relation to which an authorised officer may serve a penalty notice, and prescribes a penalty amount for the offence.
This Regulation is made under the Rural Fires Act 1997, including sections 131 (6) and 135 (the general regulation-making power).

2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
