Rural Fires Amendment Act 2000 New South Wales

No 104—Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Rural Fires Amendment Act 2000, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

5 February 2001 as the day on which that Act (other than the provisions referred to in paragraph (b)) commences, and

(b)

1 July 2001 as the day on which Schedule 1 [4], [5], [7]-[9], [13]-[20], [25], [26], [28] and [30] to that Act commences.

Explanatory note
The object of this proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Rural Fires Amendment Act 2000 (other than those provisions relating to employment of fire control officers and certain other ancillary control staff, the respective responsibilities of the Commissioner of the NSW Rural Fire Service and local authorities and contributions to the New South Wales Rural Fire Fighting Fund) on 5 February 2001 and those other provisions on 1 July 2001.

This proclamation is made under section 2 of the Act.
