AN ACT to amend the Rural and Industries Bank

Act, 1944-1969.

[Assented to 26th November, 1974.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Rural and

This Act shall come into operation on a date

to be fixed by proclamation.

Section 36

amended.

3.

Section 36 of the principal Act is amended

(Staff.)

(a)

by repealing subsection (4) and re-enacting it as follows

(4) For the purposes of the provisions of this section, and of by-laws made under it, relating to long service leave, where any person was at the time of his appointment as an officer of the Bank, an officer of the Agricultural Bank, his period of service in the latter capacity shall be regarded as having been served in the employ of the Commissioners. ;

(b)

by repealing subsection (5) and re-enacting it as follows

(5) The Commissioners may, with the prior approval of the Treasurer, make by- laws

(a)

providing for entitlements of

officers to

(i)  long service leave and lump sum payments in lieu thereof; and

(ii)

lump sum payments for

pro rata long service;

(b)

prescribing the terms and con- ditions to which all or any of those entitlements are subject; and

(c)

prescribing such other matters as are necessary or convenient for giving effect to those entitle- ments and those terms and conditions. ; and

(c) by adding a new subsection as follows

(6) In subsection (5) of this section "officers" means officers of the Bank and includes Commissioners. .
