REGULATIONS
UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1908-1927.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth
of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby
make the following Regulations under the Defence
Act 1903-1927, to come into operation forthwith.

the Royal Military College of Australia.

amended to this date.)
Amendments.
1.
Regulation 14 is amended by deleting the word “Director” (where it first
occurs) and substituting the words “combatant officer” and by omitting the
words “and in the absence of a Director the Senior Combatant Officer present.”
2.
Regulation 18 is amended by deleting the word “battalion” and substituting the
word “company”.
3.
Regulation 20 is amended by omitting paragraph (iii) thereof.
4.
Regulation 23 is repealed.
5.
Regulations 29, 30, 31 and 32 are repealed.
6.
Regulation 47 is amended by deleting the word “arrest” and substituting the
word “custody” and by deleting the figures “28” and substituting the figures
“21”.
7.
Regulation 54 is amended by deleting the words “within the Federal Territory”
and substituting the words “at the College or within any naval, military or air
force establishment”.
8.
Regulation 56 is amended by inserting the words “During the College term”
before the word “Cadets” and by omitting the words “or disposed of” and the
words “in Canberra, Queanbeyan, or elsewhere in the vicinity of the College”.

sub-regulation (ii) thereof the word “Directors” and substituting the words

Regulation 72 is amended by deleting the word “September” and substituting the
word “February”,

Regulation 73 is repealed.
13.
Regulation 76 is amended by deleting the word “five” and substituting the word
“three”.
14.
Regulation 79 is repealed.
15.
Regulation 81 is amended by inserting next after the words “use by any person”
in sub-regulation (i) thereof the words “of the College grounds or buildings
or”.
16.
Regulation 82 is amended by adding at the end thereof the words “This
regulation shall cease to have effect as from the 5th February, 1931”,

Regulation 83 is repealed.
18. The
following section is inserted next after Regulation 84:—
“XV.—Supply And
Accountancy—Ordnance Stores.
85.—(i). The
Commandant will demand supplies of clothing arms, ammunition, equipment and
general stores from the Ordnance Branch, 2nd District Base.
(ii). The
Commandant or a senior officer appointed by him will account for all such
stores with the Ordnance Branch, 2nd District Base, in the manner provided for
a unit of the Permanent Military Forces.”

Appendix III. is repealed.
20.
Appendix IV. is amended by inserting the words “ (preferably Physics and
Chemistry.)” next after the word “subjects” in subparagraph (d) of
paragraph 1 of Part (ii) thereof.
21.
Appendix V. is amended ns follows:—
(1.)
The words “Duntroon, Federal Territory” wherever occurring are omitted.
(2.) The table
contained in Division I. of Part (ii) is deleted and the following table
substituted:—

(3.) The figures and word “1922 (provisional)” in
Division II. of Part (ii) are deleted and the figures “1926” are substituted.
(4.) The words “Chapter II., Sections 38-66, Sections
67-69” in Division II. of Part (ii) are deleted and the words “Chapter II.,
Sections 38-69” are substituted.
(5.) All words under the heading “6. Signalling” in
Division II. of Part (ii) are deleted and the following substituted:—
“Subject-matter
contained in Signal Training (all Arms) 1928:—
(a) Small Flag (Morse)—send and receive a
message at six words per minute.
(b)

(6.) The figures and word “(i) and (iii)” under the

(7.) The word “Katagana” under the heading “Japanese”
in Division III. of Part (ii) is deleted and the word “ Katakana ” substituted.
