provision for the procedure in such inquiry, and to extend the provisions of the Royal Commissions Act, 1923 : Be it therefore enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Kew South "Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1 . This Act maybe cited as the “ Pmyal Commis­ sions (Municipal Council of Sydney) Act, 1924.”

2 . (1) Por the purposes of the inquiry under the said Lettei'S Patent, and any future extension of the terms or the scope of the same, the said commissioner shall have the same powers rights and privileges as if he were a judge of the Supreme Court to whom the Governor had by Letters Patent under the Great Seal issued a Iloyal Commission witliin the meaning of the Ptoyal Com­ missions Act, 1923, to make the inquiry as the sole commissioner, and the following provisions of that Act, that is to say, section sixteen, subsections one, two, and three of section seventeen, and section eighteen, shall extend to the said commissioner and aj^ply to and with respect to the inquiry, notwithstanding any provisions of that Act to the contrary.

(2) The powers, rights, and privileges conferred by this Act on the said commissioner shall be in addition to any powers, rights, and privileges conferred on him by the said or any other Letters Patent or by the Iloyal Commissions Act, 1923.
