Rottnest Island Amendment Regulations
(No. 3) 2011
Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
1. Citation
These regulations are the Rottnest Island Amendment
25 October 2011 GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, WA 4513 2. Commencement
These regulations come into operation as follows -
(a) regulations 1 and 2—on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette; (b) the rest of the regulations - on the day after that day. 3. Regulations amended
These regulations amend the Ronizesi Island Regulations 1988.
4. Regulation 3 amended
In regulation 3 in the definition of anchor delete the passage that begins with "anchor -" and continues to the end of the definition and insert:
anchor that, once lowered, can be taken back on board
the vessel;
5. Regulation 13A inserted
After regulation 12 insert:
13A. Securing vessel by means of another vessel's anchor (1) A person must not secure a vessel, or allow it to remain
secured, to an anchor lowered from another vessel.
Penalty: a fine of $750.(2) Subsection (1) applies whether or not the anchor is still
attached to the vessel from which it was lowered.(3) Subregulation (1) does not apply in respect of a vessel
that is secured to a mooring comprising an anchor.
6. Part 4 Division 4 deleted
Delete Part 4 Division 4.
7. Regulation 41B inserted
After regulation 4 1A insert:
41B. No flora to be brought to Island (1) In this regulation -
flora means any form of, or any part of, plant life or a
fungus, but does not include anything intended for
human consumption.

(2) A person must not without permission cause or allow any flora to be brought within the limits of the Island. Penalty: a fine of $1000. (3) A ranger may take and destroy any flora that the ranger believes to be within the limits of the Island as a result of a contravention of this regulation. 8. Regulation 45 amended
In regulation 45(1)(b) delete "power" and insert:
power, or a motorised wheelchair that is
designed so as to be not capable of a speed
exceeding 10 km/h,
9. Regulation 46 amended
In regulation 46(2) after "wheelchair" insert:
as referred to in regulation 45(1)(b)
10. Regulation 72 replaced
Delete regulation 72 and insert:72. Liquor not to be consumed at Kingstown Barracks
(1) In this regulation - Kingstown Barracks Restricted Alcohol Consumption
Area means the area bounded by -
(a) aline between coordinates 115'33'14.658"E
32'0'14.009"S and 1 15°33'16 745"E 32°0'16.137"S; and
(b) a line between coordinates 115'33'16.745 T 32°0'19.547"S; and
(c)
a line between coordinates 1 15°33'l 1.719"E 32'0'19.547"S and 115°33'9 742"E 32°0'17.035"S; and
(d) aline between coordinates 115'33'9.742"E
32'0'17.035"S and 115'33'14.658"E
32°0'14.009"S; and
which area is represented in the plan in Schedule 4A.

at Kingstown Barracks Restricted Alcohol
Consumption Area.
Penalty: a fine of$1 000.
11. Regulation 74 amended
(1) Delete regulation 74(5), (6) and (7). (2) In regulation 74(8) delete "Despite subregulations (5), (6)
and (7), the" and insert:The 12. Schedule 1 amended
(1) Delete the heading to Schedule I and the reference after it and
insert:
Schedule 1 - Forms
[r. 14 and 73(2)]
(2) In Schedule 1 Form 2 delete the item beginning
"Regulation 72(1)" and insert:
