Rottnest Island Authority Act 1987

Rottnest Island Amendment Regulations 2010

Made by the Lieutenant-Governor and deputy of the Governor in
Executive Council.

1.             Citation

These regulations are the Rottnest Island Amendment
Regulations 2010.

2.             Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a) regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette;
(b) the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.             Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Rottnest Island Regulations 1988.

4.             Regulation 3 amended

In regulation 3 insert in alphabetical order:

liquor has the meaning given in the Liquor Control
Act 1988 section 3(1);

5.             Regulation 68 amended

In regulation 68(1) delete “alcoholic”.

6.             Regulation 72 amended

(1) Before regulation 72(1) insert:
(1A) In this regulation —
licensed premises has the meaning given in the Liquor
Control Act 1988 section 3(1).

(2) Delete regulation 72(1) and (2) and insert:
(1) A person must not consume liquor within the limits of
the Island except as follows —

(a) in licensed premises;

(b) with permission, at Kingstown Barracks;

(c)

if not part of Kingstown Barracks, in residential accommodation or its surrounds;

(d)

at a campsite for which a licence is granted under regulation 8;

(e) on a vessel in the waters of the Island;

(f)

in a place for the time being approved for the purposes of this regulation.

Penalty: a fine of $1 000.

(3) In regulation 72(3) delete “alcoholic”.

7.             Schedule 4 amended

In Schedule 4 item 47 delete “alcoholic”.
