[ASSENTED '1'0 14'1'H DECEMBER, 1906.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - 1. This Act may be cited as "The Rockhampton Short title HarboU//' Board Acts Amendment Act of 1906," and ~ ~ ~ st~ uction shall be read as one with " The Rockhampton Harbour of Act.

Board Act, 1895,"* and "The Bockhampton Harbour Board Act, 1895, Amendment Act of 1897,"t and may be cited together with those Acts as "The Bockhampton Harbour Board Acts, 1895 to 190(J " 2. In section twenty-five of "The Bockhamptort Harbour Board Act, 1895,"* the words "One hundred and fifty thousand pounds," where those words occur three times, are repealed, and the words" Two hundred and fifty thOUS~ llld pounds" are respectively inserted in lieu thereof. LOCAL GOVERNMENT. 6 Edw. VII. An Act to Amend "The South Brisbane Municipal N; ~ ~9. Loan Act of 1901," and to Enable the Council of ~ I~~ TC; : the City of South Brisbane to Raise a Further L~ : ; sl~ ~ ~ lE' 1906. Sum of Money by Debentures for Wharfage purposes. [ASSENTED TO 14'l'H DECEMBER, 1906.J Preamble. WHEREAS, by " The South BJ'isbane Municipal Loan Act of 1901 "t the Oouncil of the Municipality (now the Oity) of South Brisbane was empowered, subject to the conditions in that Act provided, to raise by debentures the sum of one hundred thousand pounds for the purposes in that Act set forth: And whereas pursuant to that Act the sum of £22,500 has been so raised and expended as follows, namely, in the discharge of the indebtedness of the Oouncil to the Queensland National Bank, Limited, £10,000; on drainage, £5,900; on water- channelling, £1,840; on road formation and public baths, £1,560; on the new Technical Oollege Hall, £1,200; and on Norman Creek Bridge, £2,000: And whereas the sum of £i7,500 has not yet been raised under the powers conferred by that Act: And whereas the said Oouncil is desirous that the purposes to which the said sum of £77,500 when raised may be applied by the said Council should be varied: And whereas the said Council is also desirous of obtaining authority to raise a further sum of £50,000, in the manner and subject to the conditions in that Act set forth, for wharfage purposes: And whereas it is expedient that the aforesaid powers should * 59 Vie.
