263 (Quernsfintbr ANNO VICESIMO OCTAVO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 31 of 1979 An Act to amend the Roads (Contribution to Maintenance) Act 1957- 1978 in certain particulars [ ASSENTED TO 8TH JUNE, 1979] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellcnt Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Roads (Contribution to Maintenance) Act Amendment Act 1979. (2) In this Act the Roads (Contribution to Maintenance) Act 1957-1978 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Roads (Contribution to Maintenance) Act 1957-1979.

264 Roads ( Contribution to Maintenance ) Act Amdt Act 1979, No. 31 2. New ss . 2A and 2B. The Principal Act is amended by in Part I inserting after section 2 the following sections:- " 2A. Restricted future application of Act. On and after 1 July, 1979 sections 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9 shall not apply in relation to- (a) a journey of a commercial goods vehicle along a public highway in Queensland that commences on or after that date; or (b) such part of a journey of a commercial goods vehicle along a public highway in Queensland as is undertaken on or after that date, whenever the journey commenced. 2B. Restricted future effect of arrangements under Act. On and after I July 1979 arrangements made pursuant to section 6 shall have no force or effect in relation to- (a) a journey of a commercial goods vehicle along a public highway in Queensland that commences on or after that date; or (b) such part of a journey of a commercial goods vehicle along a public highway in Queensland as is undertaken on or after that date, whenever the journey commenced.".
