ROADS AND PUBLIC PLACES REGULATIONS.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Roads and Public Places short title.

2. The Roads and Public Places Regulations, being Regulations 1956, Repeal.

nance 1937, the prescribed fee for the opening up, or breaking the surface
of—

(a) the carriage-way of a public road is- the fee specified in the First Schedule to these Regulations opposite to the type of surface of the carriage-way; and

(b) a footpath or the drive-way between the carriage-way of a public road and the boundary of a parcel of land is the fee specified in the Second Schedule to these Regulations opposite to the type of surface of the footpath or drive-way.

THE SCHEDULES.

FIRST SCHEDULE. Regulation 3 (a).

Type of surface. Fee.

Concrete pavement	£15 or an amount calculated at the rate of £1 for each square foot or part of a square foot of the surface opened up or broken, whichever is the greater.
Bituminous macadam pavement	£5 or an amount calculated at the rate of 3s. 3d. for each square foot or part of a square foot of the surface opened up or broken, whichever is the greater.
Bituminous surfaced pavement..	£5 or an amount calculated at the rate of Is. 9d. for each square foot or part of a square foot of the surface opened up or broken, whichever is the greater.
Gravel pavement	£3 or an amount calculated at the rate of Is. 3d. for each square foot or part of a square foot of the surface opened up or broken, whichever is the greater.

SECOND SCHEDULE. Regulation 3 (6).

Type of surface. Fee.

Concrete pavement	£3 or an amount calculated at the rate of 3s. 3d. for each square foot or part of a square foot of the surface opened up or broken, whichever is the greater.
Bituminous macadam pavement	£2 or an amount calculated at the rate of Is. 9d. for each square foot or part of a square foot of the surface opened up or broken, whichever is the greater.
