Roads and Public Places Regulations

The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Roads and Public Places Act 1937.

Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Roads and Public Places Regulations.
Commencement
2. These Regulations commence on the day on which they are notified in the Gazette.
Repeal
3. Regulations 1983 No. 5 are repealed.
Interpretation
4. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—
“the Act” means the Roads and Public Places Act 1937.
Fees for the purposes of sections 15E and 15K
5. (1) The fee to be paid under subsection 15E (1) of the Act for the issue of a permit or under subsection 15K (1) of the Act for the renewal of a permit is the fee calculated in accordance with the formula—

where -
ais the amount of $19.50;
Yis the area in square metres of that much of the place to be specified in the permit that is not covered;
bis the amount of $30;
Zis the area in square metres of that much of the place to be specified in the permit that is covered.
(2) For the purpose of subsection (1) a place or part of a place is covered if, at the time of the grant or renewal of a permit, it is roofed or the Minister is otherwise satisfied on reasonable grounds that it is covered.
