Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999.

Explanatory note
The Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999 enables an authorised officer to remove an illegally parked vehicle from a prescribed place if the officer considers the vehicle is causing, or unless removed is likely to cause, danger to the public or undue traffic congestion. The object of this Regulation is to prescribe a freeway as a prescribed place from which an illegally parked vehicle may be so removed.
This Regulation is made under the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act

1999, including sections 71 (the general regulation-making power) and 76.

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Amendment (Removal of Unattended Vehicles) Regulation 2012.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Regulation 1999

Clause 155 Removal of unattended vehicles: section 76

Insert after clause 155 (1) (d):

(e) a freeway within the meaning of the Road Rules 2008.
