  1. Name of regulation

    This regulation is the Road Transport (Offences) Amendment Regulation 2018 (No 2).

  2. Commencement

    This regulation commences on 1 September 2018.

    NoteThe naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act, s 75 (1)).

  3. Legislation amended

    This regulation amends the Road Transport (Offences) Regulation 2005.

  4. Section 12A (3) and note

    substitute

    (3)A person commits an offence if—

    (a)an infringement notice is placed on or attached to a vehicle; and

    (b)the person does something that prevents the responsible person for the vehicle receiving or reading the infringement notice.

    Maximum penalty:  20 penalty units.

    (4)An offence against subsection (3) is a strict liability offence.
