under the

Road Transport Legislation Amendment (Offender Nomination)
Act 2012 No 17

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Road Transport Legislation Amendment (Offender Nomination) Act 2012, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 2012 as the day on which Schedules 1 [3], 2.1 and 2.2 to the Act commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence:

(a)

amendments to enable a single nomination to be made under section 179 of the Road Transport (General) Act 2005 and section 38 of the Fines Act 1996 where more than one camera recorded traffic offence was detected by the same camera at approximately the same time, and

(b)

amendments to the Road Transport (General) Regulation 2005 to provide for the penalty amount for a penalty notice served on a corporation for a certain kind of camera recorded offence for which the corporation is deemed to be liable under section 179 of the Road Transport (General) Act 2005 to be, generally, 5 times the penalty amount prescribed for a natural person served with such a penalty notice.
