ERRATUM

THE following Proclamation is republished in lieu of the invalid Proclamation which appeared in Government Gazette No. 4 of 9 January 1998, Folio 142, and under section 23 (5) of the Interpretation Act 1987 this Proclamation will take legal effect on 16 January 1998.

ROAD TRANSPORT (HEAVY VEHICLES REGISTRATION

CHARGES) AMENDMENT ACT 1997 No 118—PROCLAMATION*

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Road Transport (Heavy Vehicles Registration Charges) Amendment Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 9 January 1998 as the day on which that Act commences.

* The proclamation appointed 9.1.1998 as the date of commencement. Pursuant to s 23

(5) of the Interpretation Act 1987, the proclamation does not fail merely because it was not

published in the Gazette until after the day appointed in the proclamation, but S 23 (5)
provides, in that event, for the Act to commence on the day on which the proclamation was

published in the Gazette.
