Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to make amendments to the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulation 2008 in relation to demerit point offences that are consequential on the amendments made to the Road Rules 2008 by the Road Amendment (Miscellaneous) Rules 2012.

This Regulation is made under the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998, including sections 15 and 19 (the general regulation-making power).

Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment

(Miscellaneous) Regulation 2012

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment
(Miscellaneous) Regulation 2012.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 November 2012 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulation 2008

(1) Schedule 1 National schedule of demerit point offences

Omit “or 143” from the matter relating to Rule 93, 94 or 143 of the Road

Rules 2008.

Insert instead “, 143 (1) or 143 (2)”.

(2) Schedule 2 Additional demerit point offences
Insert after the matter relating to Rule 138 (1) of the Road Rules 2008:
Rule 143 (1A) Overtake/pass vehicle contrary to 2 2

sign

(3) Schedule 2
Insert after the matter relating to Rule 159 of the Road Rules 2008:
Rule 164A Drive past safety zone or stopped 2 2

tram/Fail to give way to pedestrian
