Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to increase certain fees payable under the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998. The fee increases are generally in line with movements in the Consumer Price Index.

This Regulation is made under the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998, including sections 19 (the general regulation-making power) and 20 (2) (f).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment
(Fees) Regulation 2010.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2010 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

1         Issue or renewal of driver licence:

(a) 1-year 48
(b) 3-year 115
(c) 5-year 153
(d) provisional P1 licence 48
(e) provisional P2 licence 76
(f) learner licence 21
(g) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom 48

clause 43 applies—a driver licence (other than a
provisional P1 licence, a provisional P2 licence or learner

licence)

(h) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom 48
clause 43 applies—a provisional P1 licence
(i) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom 48
clause 43 applies—a provisional P2 licence
(j) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom 21
clause 43 applies—a learner licence

Note. Clause 43 provides (with some exceptions) that a temporary overseas visitor is not eligible to be issued a driver licence (which includes a provisional or learner licence) that will be in force for a period of more than 12 months and is not eligible to have a driver licence held by the person renewed for a period of more than 12 months.
