Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Act 1998.

Explanatory note

(Driver Licensing) Act 1998.
The fee increases are generally in line with movements in the Consumer Price Index.

The object of this Regulation is to increase certain fees payable under the Road Transport sections 19 (the general regulation-making power) and 20 (2) (f).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment
(Fees) Regulation 2009.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2009 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

1         Issue or renewal of driver licence:

(a) 1-year 47
(b) 3-year 113
(c) 5-year 151
(d) provisional P1 licence 47
(e) provisional P2 licence 75
(f) learner licence 21
(g) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom clause 47

43 applies—a driver licence (other than a provisional P1

licence, a provisional P2 licence or learner licence)

(h) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom clause 47
43 applies—a provisional P1 licence
(i) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom clause 47
43 applies—a provisional P2 licence
(j) in the case of a temporary overseas visitor to whom clause 21
43 applies—a learner licence

Note. Clause 43 provides (with some exceptions) that a temporary overseas visitor is not eligible to be issued a driver licence (which includes a provisional or learner licence) that will be in force for a period of more than 12 months and is not eligible to have a driver licence held by the person renewed for a period of more than 12 months.
