1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment (Demerit
Points for Mobile Phone Offences) Regulation 2015.

2      Commencement

(1)	This Regulation commences on 17 December 2015, except as provided by subclause (2), and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.
(2)	Clause 3 (2) and (4) commence on 22 January 2016.

3 Amendment of Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulation 2008

(1) Schedule 1 National schedule of demerit point offences

Omit “3” and “4” from Column 4 in the matter relating to rule 300 of the Road Rules

2014.

Insert instead “6” and “8”, respectively.

Omit the matter relating to rule 300 of the Road Rules 2014. Insert instead:
Rule 300 Driver (other than learner or P1 driver) use hand-held 4 8

mobile phone while driving

(3)	Schedule 2 Additional demerit point offences
Omit “3” and “4” from Column 4 in the matter relating to rule 300–1 of the Road Rules 2014.
Insert instead “6” and “8”, respectively.
