1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment (Demerit
Points for Mobile Phone Offences) Regulation 2015.

2      Commencement

(1) This Regulation commences on 17 December 2015, except as provided by
subclause (2), and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.
(2) Clause 3 (2) and (4) commence on 22 January 2016.

3 Amendment of Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulation 2008

(1) Schedule 1 National schedule of demerit point offences

Omit “3” and “4” from Column 4 in the matter relating to rule 300 of the Road Rules

2014.

Insert instead “6” and “8”, respectively.

(2) Schedule 1
Omit the matter relating to rule 300 of the Road Rules 2014. Insert instead:
Rule 300 Driver (other than learner or P1 driver) use hand-held 4 8

mobile phone while driving

(3) Schedule 2 Additional demerit point offences
Omit “3” and “4” from Column 4 in the matter relating to rule 300–1 of the Road
Rules 2014.
Insert instead “6” and “8”, respectively.
(4) Schedule 2
Omit the matter relating to rule 300–1 of the Road Rules 2014. Insert instead:
Rule 300–1 Learner or P1 driver use mobile phone while driving 4 8
