ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1974

ROAD TRAFFIC (TOWED AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 1993

Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.

Citation

1.     These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Towed Agricultural

Implements) Amendment Regulations 1993.

Principal regulations

2.     In these regulations the Road Traffic (Towed Agricultural Implements)

Regulations 1990* are referred to as the principal regulations.

Regulation 4 amended

3.      Regulation 4 of the principal regulations is amended —

(a) in subregulation (1) —

(i)      by inserting "and" after paragraph (a);

(ii) by deleting "; and" at the end of paragraph (b) and substituting a comma; and

(iii)    by deleting paragraph (c);

and

(b) by inserting after subregulation (1) the following subregulation

combination is fitted with a flashing amber dome (1a) Subregulation (1) does not apply if the

light that conforms with regulation 10A and is fitted

in accordance with that regulation.

Regulation 6 amended

4.     Regulation 6 (2) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

"each towed implement" and substituting the following —

5.      Regulation 10A of the principal regulations is repealed and the following

regulation is substituted —

"	Flashing amber light
10A. A flashing amber dome light required to be fitted to a combination conforms with, and is fitted in accordance with, this regulation if it —

(a)	is fitted to the highest position on the combination practicable; and
(b)	has a discernible intermittent flash visible in bright sunlight at a distance of not less than 200 metres.

Regulations 19, 20, 21 and 22 amended

6.     Regulation 19 (d) (0, 20 (1) (e) (i), 21 (2) and 22 (2) of the principal

regulations are amended in each case by deleting "towed implement" and

substituting the following —

Regulation 23 amended

7.     Regulation 23 (2) of the principal regulations is repealed and the

following subregulation is substituted —

(2) Subregulation (1) (i) does not apply if —

(a)	the towing vehicle is fitted with mirrors that enable the driver of the towing vehicle to see vehicles approaching from the rear; or
(b)	the combination is fitted with a flashing amber dome lamp that conforms with regulation 10A and is fitted in accordance with that regulation.
