Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

Part 1 — Preliminary

1.   Citation

These regulations are the Road Traffic Regulations Amendment

1 September 2020 GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, WA 2775

2.           Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows

(a)

Part 1 - on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette;

(b)

the rest of the regulations - on the day on which the Road Traffic Amendment (Impaired Driving and Penalties) Act 2020 section 39 comes into operation.

Part 2— Road Traffic (Administration)

Regulations 2014 amended

3.           Regulations amended

This Part amends the Road Traffic (Administration)
Regulations 2014.

4.           Regulation 23 amended

In regulation 23(2) in the Table after the item for s. 81F(1) insert:

s. 81G(2) Driving a motor 30

vehicle that is a heavy
vehicle, on a road, that
has a radar detector
fitted to, within or on

the vehicle

s. 81G(2) Driving a motor 24
vehicle that is not a
heavy vehicle, on a
road, that has a radar
detector fitted to,
within or on the
vehicle

Part 3— Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive)
Regulations 2014 amended

5.           Regulations amended

This Part amends the Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive)
Regulations 2014.

6.           Regulation 65 amended

In regulation 65(2) in the Table after the item for s. 67AB insert:

s. 81G(2) Driving a motor vehicle,
on a road, that has a radar
detector fitted to, within
or on the vehicle —
(a) during a holiday
period 14
(b) other than during a
holiday period 7
