Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Miscellaneous) Variation Regulations 2008.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on the day on which sections 27 and 30 of the Statutes Amendment (Transport Portfolio) Act 2008 come into operation.

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

4—Variation of Schedule 9—Expiation fees

1. Schedule 9, Part 2—after the item relating to section 40Y(5) of the Road Traffic Act 1961 insert:

45A Driving at speed exceeding applicable speed limit by 45 kph or more $541

1. Schedule 9, Part 2—after the item relating to section 91(3) of the Road Traffic Act 1961 insert:

110C(2)	Selling or offering for sale for use on roads motor vehicle or trailer not bearing vehicle identification plate for that vehicle or trailer—offence not committed in course of trade or business	$160
110C(3)	Driving motor vehicle or trailer not bearing vehicle identification plate for that vehicle or trailer	$160

Note—

As required by section 10AA(2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1978, the Minister has certified that, in the Minister's opinion, it is necessary or appropriate that these regulations come into operation as set out in these regulations.
