6. Regulation 7 amended
Delete regulation 7(1), (2) and (3) and insert:(] ) A vehicle is a statutory write-off if
(a) the vehicle is a total loss; and (b)
an assessor has determined that the vehicle is suitable only for dismantling and processing as scrap.

An assessor who. in accordance with these regulations, is determinin- whether a vehicle is a statutory write-off must
(a) conduct tests on the vehicle which enable the
condition of the vehicle to be assessed in accordance with the Technical Guide; and
(h) assess the results of those tests in accordance
with the Technical Guide.
(3) In subsection (2)
Techjnicral Guide means the "New Damage Assessment
Criteria for the Classification of Statutor\ Write-offs"
approved by Austroads Ltd ABN 16 245 787 323 and
published in July 2011 .By Command of the Governor,

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
1. Citation
These regulations are the Road Traffic (Licensing) Amendment

2. Commencement
These regulations come into operation as follows -
(a) regulations I and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette; (b)
the rest of the regulations on the day after that day. 3. Regul ations amended
These re^tulations amend the Road Traffic (Licensing)
Regulations 19 75.
4. Regulation 3C anicnded
(1) Before regulation 3C(1) insert: (IA) In this regulation
appru ► 'edd place means a place that is an authorised
i nspection station or is other-^N•ise approved of by the
Director General.
(2) Delete regulation 3C(2) and insert:
(2) An authorisation of a person under regulation 3A(1)(a) (as an authorised vehicle examiner) may specify a class
of vehicle the examination and testing of • hich may beundertaken at a place that is not an approved place.
(3) An authorised vehicle examiner cannot issue a valid
certificate of inspection in IcILition to a vehicle based
on the examiner's examination and testing of the
vehicle unless
(a) the testing and examination is undertaken at a place that is an approved place; or (b)
the vehicle is of a class specified under subregulation (2) in the authorisation of the examiner.
