ROAD TRAFFIC (LICENSING) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 1998
Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
Citation
1.These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing) Amendment
Regulations 1998.
Commencement
2.These regulations come into operation on 1 July 1998.
The regulations amended
3.The amendments in these regulations are to the Road Traffic (Licensing)
Regulations 1975*.

Regulation 21FA amended
4.Regulation 21FA (2) is amended by deleting "25%" and inserting instead —
" 12.5% ".
Regulation 21N repealed

6. Regulation 210 is repealed and the following regulation is inserted instead —
"
Certain semi-trailers
210. (1) This regulation applies to a semi-trailer that the Director General is
satisfied will, during the period for which the licence fee is to be calculated —
(a) be towed by a prime mover registered in the name of the owner of the semi-trailer; and
(b) not be used in combination with any other trailer. (2) The vehicle licence fee payable for a vehicle to which this regulation applies is reduced by 75%.
Regulation 21PB replaced
7. Regulation 21PB is repealed and the following regulation is inserted instead —
"
Family vehicles
21PB. (1) This regulation applies to a vehicle that is a motor car or motor
wagon —
(a) to be registered in the name of a natural person; (b) with a tare that does not exceed 3 000 kg; and (c) that the Director General is satisfied will, during the period for which the licence fee is to be calculated, be used solely for social, domestic or pleasure purposes and not for the carriage of passengers or goods, for hire or reward or in any business, trade or profession.
(2) The vehicle licence fee that, but for this regulation, would be payable for a
vehicle to which this regulation applies is reduced —
(a) by $28; or (b) if a reduction of $28 would result in the fee being less than $1, to $1. (3) A reduction under subregulation (2) is to be applied to a vehicle licence fee
after that fee has been reduced by all other applicable reductions.
Regulation 21Q amended
8. Regulation 21Q (3) is amended by deleting ", 21N".By Command of the Governor,
