ROAD TRAFFIC (LICENSING) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 1997

Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.

Citation

1.      These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing) Amendment

Regulations 1997.

Commencement

2.      These regulations come into operation on the day on which the Road Traffic

Amendment Act 1996 comes into operation.

Principal regulations

3.      In these regulations the Road Traffic (Licensing) Regulations 1975% are

referred to as the principal regulations.

Various amendments as to "Director General"

4. (1) Regulation 3 (1) of the principal regulations is amended -

(a) in the definition of "manufacturer's gross vehicle mass", by deleting

"Board" and substituting the following -

" Director General "; and

(b) in paragraph (b) of the definition of "MRC", by deleting "Board" and

substituting the following -

" Director General ".

"Board may, if it" and substituting the following - (2) Regulation 4 (2) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

" Director General may, if the Director General ".

(3) Regulation 5A of the principal regulations is amended -

in subregulation (I), by deleting "its records" and substituting the

(a) following -

" the Director General's records "; and

in subregulation (2), by deleting "Board's" and substituting the

(b) following -

" Director General's ".

Regulation 11 (3) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

"Commissioner of Police, Traffic Board" and substituting the following - (4)

" Director General ".

Regulation 21B of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

"Board may, in order to satisfy itself' and substituting the following -	(5)
" Director General may, in order to be satisfied	".

Regulation 21C (1) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

"if the Board" and substituting the following - (6)

" if the Director General ".

Regulation 24 (6) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

"surrender to it" and substituting the following - (7)

" surrender to the Director General ".

Regulation 24 (6a) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

"surrender to it" and substituting the following - (8)

" surrender to the Director General ".

Regulation 26B (3) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting

"as it thinks" and substituting the following - (9)

" as the Director General thinks ".

deleting "Traffic Board." and substituting the following - (10) Form 5 in Schedule 1 to the principal regulations is amended by

" Director General. ".

paragraph (b) in the column with the heading "Service" by deleting "Board's" (11) Item 4 of Schedule 2 to the principal regulations is amended in

and substituting the following -

" Director General's ".

this subregulation are amended by deleting "Board" in each place where it occurs (12) The provisions of the principal regulations mentioned in the Table to
