ROAD TRAFFIC (FEES FOR VEHICLE LICENCES) REGULATIONS

(NO. 2) 1992

Made by His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor and Administrator in

Executive Council.

Citation

1.     These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Fees for Vehicle

Licences) Regulations (No. 2) 1992.

Interpretation

substituting the following Section —

2.      In these regulations

"Second Schedule" means the Second Schedule to the Road Traffic Act

1974*.

Specified day

3. For the purposes of section 28A of the Act, the specified day in relation to

the amendments effected by these regulations shall be 1 January 1993.

Second Schedule amended

4. Part III of the Second Schedule is amended by deleting Section AA and

PART III— SECTION AA

LICENCE FEES FOR FAMILY VEHICLES

(Section 28A)

Instead of the fee for a period of 12 months that is specified in Section A, there is payable for a family vehicle a reduced licence fee calculated as follows, subject to a rebate of —

except where paragraph (b) or (c) applies, an amount of

(a) $20;
(b) if the vehicle attracts a concession under either subsection (14d) or (16a) of section 19, but not both of
those subsections, an amount that is twice the amount
specified in paragraph (a); or

(o) if the vehicle attracts concessions under both
subsections (14d) and (16a) of section 19, an amount

that is 4 times the amount specified in paragraph (a),

except that the licence fee calculated under this section, after
deduction of the rebate, shall not in any event be less than $1.

1.     (1) For a motor car with an engine other than a rotary

type — $1.49 per power unit plus $2.87 per 100 kg unit or part

thereof of tare weight.

(2) For a motor car with a rotary engine — $5.43 per 100 kg

unit or part thereof of tare weight.

2.           For a motor wagon —

(a) with a tare weight not exceeding 1600 kg — $1.79 per power unit plus $3.47 per 100 kg unit or part thereof of tare weight;

(b) with a tare weight exceeding 1600 kg but not exceeding
2600 kg — $2.34 per power unit plus —

(i)

$77.46 for the first 1700 kg or part thereof of tare weight; and

(ii)

$4.57 tor each additional 100 kg unit or part thereof of tare weight;

(c) with a tare weight exceeding 2600 kg but not exceeding
3100 kg — $2.87 per power unit plus —

(i)

$151.13 for the first 2700 kg or part thereof of tare weight; and

(ii) $5.60 for each additional 100 kg unit or part I)

thereof of tare weight.
