Road Traffic (Drivers’ Licences) Amendment

Regulations (No. 5) 2005

Made by the Lieutenant-Governor and Administrator in Executive
Council.

1.             Citation

These regulations are the Road Traffic (Drivers’ Licences)
Amendment Regulations (No. 5) 2005.

2.             Commencement

These regulations come into operation on 1 January 2006.

3.             The regulations amended

The amendments in these regulations are to the Road Traffic
(Drivers’ Licences) Regulations 1975*.

4.             Regulation 14A amended

After regulation 14A(3) the following subregulation is
inserted —

(4) No licence fee is payable for the first year that an
unrestricted licence is being renewed for the first time
unless during the preceding period that the licence was
held on probation, the holder of the licence —

(a) was convicted of; or

(b)

paid a modified penalty in relation to an infringement notice for,

any offence under the Act or the Road Traffic
Code 2000 of which the driving of a motor vehicle on a

road is an element.

”.
