ROAD TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT

REGULATIONS (NO. 3) 1991

Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council_

Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Code Amendment

Regulations (No. 3) 1991.

Commencement

2. These regulations shall come into operation on the day on which the Road Traffic Amendment (Power Assisted Pedal Cycles) Act 1991 comes into

Regulation 103 amended

4.   Regulation 103 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting the

definition of "bicycle" and substituting the following definition —

.

"bicycle" means —

(a) any 2 or 3 wheeled vehicle that is designed to be propelled solely by human power; or

(b) a power assisted pedal cycle;

Regulation 1301A inserted

5.   After regulation 1301 of the principal regulations the following

regulation is inserted —

Age limit for riding power assisted pedal cycles

a 1301A. A person under the age of 16 years shall not ride a
power assisted pedal cycle with the power assistance engaged. ,,
