ROAD TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT REGULATIONS (No. 2) 1990

Made by His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor and Administrator in Execu- tive Council.

Citation

1.These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Code Amendment

Regulations (No. 2) 1990.

Regulation 707 repealed and a regulation substituted

2.Regulation 707 of the Road Traffic Code 1975* is repealed and the following

regulation is substituted—

Blind pedestrian

707. (1) Every person shall give way to a pedestrian who—

(a) displays a walking stick or cane that is predominantly white; or
(b) is assisted in his or her movements by a guide dog.

(2) A person, other than a blind person, who—

(a) displays a walking stick or cane that is predominently white; or
(b) subject to subregulation (3), is assisted in his or her movements by

a guide dog,

commits an offence

(3) Subregulation (2) (b) does not apply to a person who in the course of his or her employment is training a guide dog to assist a blind person. ".
