Road Traffic Code Amendment

Regulations 2002

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.            Citation

These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Code
Amendment Regulations 2002.

2.            The regulations amended

The amendments in these regulations are to the Road Traffic
Code 2000*.

3.            Regulation 3 amended

(1)	Regulation 3 is amended by inserting before "In" the subregulation designation "(1)".
(2)	Regulation 3 is amended after the definition of 'heavy vehicle speed zone" sign" by inserting the following definition

"holiday period" has the meaning given in

subregulation (2);

"holiday period" means —
(a) a 4 day period, comprising a public holiday specified in the Second Schedule to the Public

(3)	Regulation 3 is amended after the definition of "vehicle" by inserting the following definition

"weekend" means a Saturday and the following

Sunday;

(4) At the end of regulation 3 the following subregulation is
inserted —

(2) For the purposes of this Code —

and Bank Holidays Act 1972 that falls on a
Friday or a Monday, together with -

(i)     (where the public holiday is a Friday) the Thursday before it, and the weekend following it; or

(ii)     (where the public holiday is a Monday) the Friday before it, and the weekend before it;

and

(b) any period set Out in the Table to this

subregulation.

Table

1. The period of Thursday 28 March 2002 to Monday 1 April 2002 (inclusive).

2.  The period of Saturday 21 December 2002 to Wednesday 1 January 2003 (inclusive).

4.           Regulation 17 amended

The Table to regulation 17 is deleted and the following Table is inserted instead -

In each place described in the Table to this regulation
"Points: 3 Modified penalty: 3 PU" is deleted and the
following is inserted instead -
