Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008

Road Traffic (Administration) Amendment

Regulations 2018

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.             Citation

These regulations are the Road Traffic (Administration)
Amendment Regulations 2018.

2.             Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a) regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these

regulations are published in the Gazette;

(b) the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.             Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Road Traffic (Administration)
Regulations 2014.

4.             Regulation 28 amended

Delete regulation 28(3) and insert:

(3) For section 83(2), a notice to withdraw an infringement
notice for an offence under a road law other than the

Road Traffic Act 1974 may be signed by —

(a) a person holding 1 of the following offices in the Driver and Vehicle Services business unit of the agency principally assisting the Minister

in the administration of the Act —

(i)      General Manager;

(ii) Assistant Director, Governance; (iii) Investigation Services Manager; (iv) Compliance Services Manager; (v) Quality Assurance Manager;

(vi)      Risk and Business Continuity Manager;

or

(b) a person holding 1 of the following offices in the agency principally assisting the Minister in

the administration of the Main Roads

Act 1930 —

(i) Executive Director, Heavy Vehicle
Services;

(ii) Director, Heavy Vehicle Services;

(iii)	Manager, Heavy Vehicle Transport Compliance;
or

(c) a police officer who is, or is acting as, an inspector or an officer of a rank more senior than an inspector.
