The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe circumstances in which vehicles registered under the primary producer category may be used in
connection with disaster relief or charitable or
sporting bodies.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.
3. Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Road Safety (Vehicles)
Regulations 19881 are called the Principal
Regulations.

4. Alteration of vehicle use
(1) In regulation 214(4) of the Principal Regulations,
after "(4A)" insert "or (4B)".
(2) After regulation 214(4A) of the Principal
Regulations insert--- - "(4B) Sub-regulation (4) does not apply to a
vehicle registered as a primary producer
vehicle which is being used to carry, without
fee or reward to the primary producer,primary produce—
(a)
to assist in the relief of an emergency as defined in section 4 of the Emergency Management Act 1986; or
(b)
to assist a charitable body or a sporting body within the meaning of sub-regulation (4C).
(4C) In sub-regulation (4B)—
"charitable body" means—
(a) an association incorporated under
the Associations Incorporation
Act 1981; or(b) any other corporation within the Corporations Law—
the principal purpose of which is to
provide assistance to the community oranimals for reasons other than profit;
"sporting body" means—
(a)
an association incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981; or

(b) any other corporation within the Corporations Law—
the principal purpose of which is to
facilitate and co-ordinate the sportingactivities of its members.'.
