Road Safety Act 1986

Road Safety (Vehicles) Amendment (Emergency Management Commissioner) Regulations 2014

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are—

(a)to amend a reference to the definition of emergency as a consequence of the enactment of the Emergency Management Act 2013; and

(b)to include vehicles under the control of the Emergency Management Commissioner, who is the successor in law to the Fire Services Commissioner, in the definition of emergency vehicle in the Vehicle Standards.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Obligations of registered operators

In regulation 56(4)(a) of the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009[1], for "section 4 of the Emergency Management Act 1986" substitute "section 3 of the Emergency Management Act 2013".

4Schedule 2—Vehicle Standards

In clause 3 of Schedule 2 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2009, in the definition of emergency vehicle, for paragraph (ba) substitute

"(ba)a vehicle under the control of the Emergency Management Commissioner appointed under the Emergency Management Act 2013;".
