Road Safety Road Rules Amendment (Emergency Management Commissioner) Rules 2014

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Rules is to amend the dictionary at the end of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009 to reflect the commencement of the Emergency Management Act 2013.

2Authorising provision

These Rules are made under section 95D of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Dictionary

(1)In the dictionary at the end of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009[1] insert the following definition—

"Emergency Management Commissioner means the person appointed as Emergency Management Commissioner under the Emergency Management Act 2013;".

(2)In the dictionary at the end of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009, in the definition of emergency vehicle, for paragraph (ca) substitute

"(ca)a vehicle that is under the control of the Emergency Management Commissioner;".

(3)In the dictionary at the end of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009, in the note at the foot of the definition of emergency vehicle, for "Fire Services Commissioner" substitute "Emergency Management Commissioner".

(4)In the dictionary at the end of the Road Safety Road Rules 2009, the definition of Fire Services Commissioner is revoked.
