Regulations 1996

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (Procedures) Regulations 1988 and the Road Safety (Traffic) Regulations 1988 to restructure the penalties for disobeying traffic signs and to make consequential amendments.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3. Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 20

August 1996.

4. Amendment of Schedule 3

In item 5 of Schedule 3 to the Road Safety
(Procedures) Regulations 19881—

6. Amendment of Road Safety (Traffic) Regulations 1988

In regulation 402(25) of the Road Safety (Traffic) Regulations 19882 for "5 penalty units" substitute "20 penalty units".
