Regulations 1998

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to make further provision for regulating driving hours for certain vehicles.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3. New regulation 624 inserted

After regulation 623 of the Road Safety
(Procedures) Regulations 19881 insert—

'624. Exemption—fatigue management programs

(1) In this regulation, "fatigue management

program" means a program approved by the Corporation of methods to manage fatigue in

drivers of commercial buses and heavy

trucks.

(2) A person who is participating in a fatigue

management program in accordance with the
terms of its approval is exempt from
regulations 605, 606, 607, 608 and 610 in

respect of that participation.

(3) The Corporation may withdraw approval of a

fatigue management program.'.
