Road Safety (General) (Young Drivers) Regulations 2007
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

PART 1—PRELIMINARY
1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to—
(a)amend the Road Safety (General) (Young Drivers) Interim Regulations 2007 to continue in operation amendments to the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999 that—
(i)prescribe offences for the purposes of Part 7 of the Road Safety Act 1986 for which traffic infringements may be served; and
(ii)prescribe penalties for traffic infringements; and
(b)prescribe offences for the purposes of Part 7 of the Road Safety Act 1986 for which traffic infringement notices may be served and the penalties for those infringements.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.
3Commencement
(1)These Regulations (except regulations 6 and 7) come into operation on the day on which they are made.
(2)Regulations 6 and 7 come into operation on 1 July 2008.

Regulation 6 of the Road Safety (General) (Young Drivers) Interim Regulations 2007[1] is revoked.

PART 3—ROAD SAFETY (GENERAL) REGULATIONS 1999 AMENDED
5New item 2250 in Schedule 4
In Schedule 4 to the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999[2], in the table under the subheading "Licensing and Registration" after the item relating to Code 2110 insert—
"2250 Holder of a probationary driver licence driving a high powered motor vehicle before probationary period expired RS (D) R 211(1), 702(4) 2 penalty units". 6New item 2546 in Schedule 4
In Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations, in the table under the subheading "Licensing and Registration", after the item relating to Code 2129 insert—
"2546 P1 probationary licence holder towing another vehicle or trailer RS (D) R 211C 1×5 penalty units". 7Item relating to Code 2079 in Schedule 4 amended
In Schedule 4 to the Principal Regulations, in the table under the subheading "Safety Procedures", in the item relating to Code 2079 after "Learner driver" insert "or holder of a P1 probationary licence".
