Road Safety (General) (Infringements) Regulations

2002

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Road Safety (General) Regulations 1999 to provide for new traffic infringements in respect of—

(a)

the use of certain unregistered vehicles on highways; and

(b)

the ownership of certain unregistered vehicles used on highways.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3. Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on
1 October 2002.

4.  New traffic infringements in respect of the use and ownership of certain unregistered vehicles

In Schedule 4 to the Road Safety (General)

Regulations 19991—

(a)

the entry in respect of Code 2124 is revoked;

(b)

after the entry in respect of code 2129 insert—

"2601 Own or use unregistered motor RSA 7 110

cycle with engine capacity of

60cc or less

2602 Own or use unregistered motor RSA 7 300
cycle with engine capacity of
61cc or more but less than
501cc
2603 Own or use unregistered motor RSA 7 400
cycle with engine capacity of
501cc or more
2604 Own or use an unregistered RSA 7 110
trailer that is not a heavy
vehicle
2605 Own or use an unregistered RSA 7 400
trailer that is a heavy vehicle
with 1 axle
2606 Own or use an unregistered RSA 7 700
trailer that is a heavy vehicle
with 2 axles
2607 Own or use an unregistered RSA 7 900".

with 3 or more axles
