Regulations 2001
The Administrator with the advice of the Executive Council
makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to provide higher penalties in respect of certain offences committed by bodies corporate and to make further provision in respect of hours of driving of commercial buses and heavy trucks.
2. Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.
3. Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1 May
2001.

4. Increase in certain penalties for bodies corporate
In regulations 504A, 504B, 504C, 504D(1) and
(2), 513(5) and (6) and 519(1), (2), (3) and (4) of
the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 19991,
for—
"Penalty: 15 penalty units."
substitute—"Penalty: In the case of a natural person,
15 penalty units.
In the case of a body corporate,
75 penalty units.".
5. Additional exemption relating to fatigue management programs
In regulation 523(2) of the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 1999, for "508 and" substitute "508, 508A and".
