Road Safety (Drivers) and (Vehicles) Amendment Regulations 2022

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

Part 1—Preliminary

1Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are—

(a)to amend the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2019 to provide for annual indexation of fees that are expressed as a dollar amount because they are for less than one fee unit; and

(b)to amend the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2021—

(i)to provide for annual indexation of fees that are expressed as a dollar amount because they are for less than one fee unit; and

(ii)to provide for the indexation of the national heavy vehicle plate fee as part of the National Heavy Vehicle Registration Scheme.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 95 of the Road Safety Act 1986.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2022.

4Schedule 7—Search and extract fees

In Schedule 7 to the Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2019[1]—

(a)in item 1, for "$9.80" substitute "$9.95";

(b)in item 2, for "$9.80" substitute "$9.95".

Part 3—Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2021

5Schedule 2—Concessional fees for registration and renewal of registration

In the Table in Schedule 2 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2021[2], in Column 2 of item 2(b), for "$9.40" substitute "$9.55".

6Schedule 4—Miscellaneous fees

In Schedule 4 to the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2021—

(a)in Column 4 of item 13, for "$26.10" substitute "$27.10";

(b)in Column 4 of item 15, for "$26.10" substitute "$27.10";

(c)in Column 4 of item 19, for "$5" substitute "$5.05";

(d)in Column 4 of item 20, for "$4.20" substitute "$4.25";
