An Act to amend the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Act 1970

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Amendment Act (No. 2) 2000 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Road Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Act 1970 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 7 amended (Consumption, &c., of intoxicating liquor in motor vehicles) Section 7 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after subsection (3) the following subsection: (3A)  Subsections (2) and (3) do not apply to a person in a public passenger vehicle as defined in the Passenger Transport Act 1997 if there is a liquor permit in force under Division 3 of Part 2 of the Liquor and Accommodation Act 1990 in respect of that public passenger vehicle.
