ROAD MAINTENANCE
(CONTRIBUTION).
No. 106 of 1970.
AN ACT to amend section six of the Road Maintenance (Contribution) Act, 1965, to exempt from the provisions of that Act any commercial goods vehicle while being used for or in relation to the carriage of livestock.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

| and citation. | 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Road Maintenance (Contribution) Act Amendment Act, 1970. |
| (2) In this Act the Road Maintenance (Contri- bution) Act, 1965, is referred to as the principal Act. |

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Road Maintenance (Contri- bution) Act, 1965-1970.
2. Section 6 of the principal Act is amended— ,;r2glatta
| (a) | by adding after the section number "6." =1admellt the subsection designation "(1)"; and |
| (b) | by adding a subsection as follows |
(2) This Act does not apply with respect to any commercial goods vehicle
| (a) | while being used solely for the carriage of livestock, or while travelling unladen directly to or from the business premises of the owner of the vehicle so as to be so used or after being so used; and |
| (b) | if it is so used at any time during- |
(i) the period for which a vehicle licence was duly issued before the date of the coming into operation of the Road Maintenance (Contribution) Act Amendment Act, 1970 for the vehicle in accordance with paragraph (a) of subsection (3b) of section eleven of the Traffic Act, 1919; or
(ii) the period of a vehicle licence duly issued for the vehicle, for the issue of which vehicle licence a fee calculated in accord- ance with the Third Schedule to the Traffic Act, 1919, and not half of that fee as provided in paragraph (a) of sub- section (3b) of section eleven of that Act, has been paid. .
