AN ACT to amend the Road Districts Act, 1919-1946.
[Assented to 11th December, 1947.]
BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
| This Act may be cited as the Road Districts Act Amendment Act (No. 2), 1947, and shall be read as one with the Road Districts Act, 1919-1946 (Act No. 38 of 1919 as reprinted pursuant to the Amendments Incor- poration Act, 1938, in Volume two of the Reprinted Acts of the Parliament of Western Australia, 1943, and amended by the Acts Nos. 19 of 1943, 9 of 1946, 46 of 1946 and 64 of 1946), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act. | Short title. |

208B. (1) Whenever any building now or hereafter erected for the purpose of human habitation shall be distant not more than one hundred yards from any electricity main supplying electric current cap- able of being used for lighting purposes, and electricity supply from such main is available from the supply authority, the board may, if requested by any occupier of such building or any part thereof, cause notice to be served on the owner of such building requiring him within three months to instal therein and equip the same with proper electrical wire and apparatus so that lighting by electricity would, upon such wire and apparatus being connected to an electricity main, become avail- able in all rooms or other parts of such building which in the opinion of the board are being or are likely to be used in respect of such habitation as aforesaid.
(2) Any person committing an offence against the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be liable to a penalty not exceeding ten pounds for such offence, and to a further penalty not exceeding two pounds for every day such offence continues.
