AN ACT to amend the Road Districts Act, 1919-1947

[Assented to 9th December, 1948.}

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short

1.

This Act may be cited as the Road Districts Act Amendment Act, 1948, and shall be read as one with the

Road Districts Act, 1919-1947 (Act No. 38 of 1919, as

reprinted pursuant to the Amendments Incorporation Act, 1938, in Volume two of the Reprinted Acts of the Parliament of Western Australia, 1943, and amended by the Acts Nos. 19 of 1943, 9 of 1946, 46 of 1946, 64 of 1946, 25 of 1947, 44 of 1947 and 57 of 1947), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

199A. Notwithstanding any provision to the con- trary in this Act or in the Public Works Act, 1902- 1945, a board may from time to time, with the con- sent in writing on each occasion of the Minister, demise any hall vested in it to any organisation for any period not exceeding twenty-one years at such rent and upon and subject to such terms and con- ditions as the board may deem expedient. Provided that this section shall apply only to a board which has vested in it more than one hall. Provided also that the consent of the Minister shall not be given to any demise as aforesaid unless the lease shall contain a covenant by the lessee that not less than two members of the board nominated from time to time by the board shall be members of the com- mittee or other executive body of the organisation.
