AN ACT to amend the Road Districts Act, 1919.

B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, byCouncil and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, inand with the advice and consent of the Legislative

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows:—

1.    This Act may he cited as the Road Districts Act Short title.

Amendment Act, 1933, and shah be read as one with the

Road Districts Act, 1919, and the Acts amending the same. hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

2.    Section five of the principal Act is amended by insert- A

Amendment of

Subsection (1) of section eight of the principal Act is amended by adding thereto a paragraph, as follows :— 8. 8.

4.    Section thirteen of the principal Act is amended by sA.madment of

affected shall go out of office on a day to be appointed by the Minister, but shall be eligible for re-election; and the provisions of paragraph (b) of subsection (1) shall apply.

Amendment of

s. 16. 5. Section sixteen of the principal Act is amended by h

serting after the word "power" in the first line thereof the words "under section eight," and by deleting the words "in this section."

Amendment of

Section twenty-seven of the principal Act is amended

by substituting the word "third" for the word "second" in

the first line thereof.

Amendment of

Section twenty-eight of the principal Act is amended

by substituting the word "third" for the word "second" in

the fourth and fifth lines thereof.

Amendment of

Section sixty-one of the principal . pct is amended by

substituting the word "third" for the word "second" in the

third and fifth lines of the proviso.

s. 61. 8.

Amendment of 9.

Section sixty-eight of the principal Act, as amended by

the Act No. 35 of 1932, is amended by substituting "26th"

for "28th" in the proviso.

Amendment of s. 10.

Section seventy of the principal Act, as amended by section twelve of the Act No. 35 of 1932, is amended by de- leting from subsection (2) all the words after the words "such declaration shall be made," and inserting in lieu thereof the words "on the nomination day, but in the case of an annual election the person or persons then declared to be elected shall not take office until after the day appointed for the annual election."

Amendment of

Subsection (3) of section one hundred and thirty-seven of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words "and the chairman shall have au original, and, in ease of an equality of votes, a second or casting vote," and by inserting in place thereof "and in the ease of an equality of votes on any question such question shall pass in the negative."

Amendment of 12.

Paragraph (20a) of section one hundred and sixty of the principal Act (inserted by section twenty-seven of the Act No. 35 of 1932) is amended by deleting the words "within its district."

Paragraph (46b) of section one hundred and ninety- six of the principal Act (inserted by the Act No. 35 of 1932) is amended by substituting the words "a townsite" for the words "the townsite."	Amendment of

Section two hundred and seventy-one of the principal Act is amended by substituting the words "conveyance or transfer" for the words "conveyance of transfer" in line two, and by deleting the word "to" in lines five and six re- spectively.	s. 271.
Amendment of

14.

Subsection (3) of section three hundred and twenty of the principal Act, as amended by section sixty-six of the Act No. 35 of 1932, is amended by inserting the word "in" after the word "published," in the fourth and fifth lines of the said subsection.	320,
