AN ACT to amend section one hundred and sixty of the

Road Districts Act, 1919.

Act, 1919, is hereby amended by the insertion, after para-

graph thirteen thereof, of a paragraph as follows :-

(13A) Acquire, provide, establish, maintain and improve parks, gardens and other places for the purposes of public recreation and enjoyment.

(20A) Erect, on any land vested in the Board or acquired for the purpose, houses to be leased to,

and used as homes by, employees of the Board, and maintain and make use of such houses and land for the purposes aforesaid as long as the Board may deem expedient, with power to sell and dispose of the same when no longer required for such purposes ; Provided that no freehold estate in any such house or land shall be granted to any employee, and that no money shall be expended for the erection of any such house or the acquisition of any such land, except out of loan moneys raised for the purpose under Part VII. of this Act.
