Road Amendment (Filming) Rules 2009

Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Rules under the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999.

Explanatory note
The object of these Rules is to exempt heavy vehicles and long vehicles that stop on a length of road in a built up area, in connection with or in a manner ancillary to the carrying out of an approved filming project, from the one-hour time limit for stopping that would otherwise apply to them.
These Rules are made under section 72A of the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic
Management) Act 1999.

1 Name of Rules
These Rules are the Road Amendment (Filming) Rules 2009.
2 Commencement
These Rules commence on the day on which they are published on the
NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Road Rules 2008
(1) Rule 200 Stopping on roads—heavy and long vehicles Omit “or (2A–1)” from Rule 200 (2).
Insert instead “, (2A–1) or (2A–2)”.
(2) Rule 200 (2A–2) Insert after Rule 200 (2A–1):
(2A–2) The driver of a heavy vehicle, or a long vehicle, is permitted to stop on a length of road in a built-up area for longer than 1 hour if the vehicle is stopped for a purpose that is ancillary to or connected with the lawful carrying out of a filming project (within the meaning of the Local Government Act 1993) that is approved under that Act. Note. This subrule is an additional NSW subrule. There is no corresponding subrule in rule 200 of the Australian Road Rules.
