258 River Improvement Trust Act Amendment Act 1991, No. 17 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title . This Act may be cited as the River Improvement Trust Act Amendment Act 1991. 2. Principal Act and citation . (1) In this Act, the River ImprovementTrust Act 1940-1985 is referred to as the Principal Act. (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the River Improvement Trust Act 1940-1991. 3. Amendment of s. 5. Section 5 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (1)- (i) in paragraph ( i) omitting the words " A representative" and substituting the words " a representative"; (ii) omitting the word "and " that occurs between paragraphs (i) and (ii); (iii) in paragraph (ii) omitting the words " Two representatives" and substituting the words " two representatives"; (iv) inserting after the words "is constituted " the words- (iii) if, in the opinion of the Minister, the circumstances so require, not more than two persons appointed by the Governor in Council"; (b) in subsection (2)- (i) omitting the words "at the pleasure" and substituting the words "during the pleasure"; (ii) inserting at the end of the subsection the following paragraph:- "Each person appointed under paragraph (iii) of subsection (1) holds office during the pleasure of the Governor in Council."; (c) in subsection (3), omitting the words "at the pleasure" and substituting the words "during the pleasure". Minister's Second Reading Speech made on 14 March 1991.
