AN ACT to amend the Rights in Water and Irrigation

Act, 1914-1939.

[Assented to 16th December, 1941.]

pE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,

by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

cf. No. 16 of1. This Act may be cited as the Rights in Water and

Short title.

1939, s. 3. Irrigation Act Amendment Act, 1941, and shall be read as one with the Rights in Water and Irrigation Act, 1914- 1939 (No. 19 of 1914 as amended by the Act No. 16 of 1939), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

Amendment

of s. 2.

2. Section two of the principal Act is amended as follows :-

(a) by deleting from the definition of "Irrigable" the words "by gravitation" in line four of the said definition;

(b) by inserting in the definition of "Irrigation" after the word "purpose" in line three of the said definition the words "of cultivation of any kind or."

of s. 33.

3. Section thirty-three of the principal Act is amended by inserting in subsection (2) thereof after the word "works" in line one of the said subsection the words "except such distributory works, the estimated cost of which shall not exceed five hundred pounds, as the Governor may exempt from the operation of this section."
